1980 Gibson Explorer E/2
The Explorer E/2 was a modern update to the Explorer that launched in 1979. The Explorer E/2 was distinguished by using a Walnut or Maple top on a five-piece maple body with beveled edges. It also had a number of cosmetic appointments to set it apart from other Explorers including an "E2" emblem on the truss-rod cover.
