1964 Fender Vibroverb Vintage
This is it—the holy grail of Fender Blackfaces. Blues-rock guitarists have squabbled over the last quarter century about what contributed most to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s colossal tone. Some believe it was his heavy-handed attack or the beaten-with-love Strat with an alchemy all its own from a ’63 body, ’62 neck, and ’59 pickups. Perhaps that’s true, but the bedrock of his signature “Texas Flood” firepower was his two 1964 Fender Vibroverb amplifiers.
The Vibroverb was only produced for two years, and remains an extremely sought-after Fender amp. This model was the first to feature both vibrato and reverb, and was notably used by Stevie Ray Vaughan. Ours is a 1964 Fender Vibroverb. Upgrades include changed output transformer, power cable, and a couple of resistors. This thing is clean and captures the SRV tone EXACTLY.
